AL, 1837-1862 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Shelby County, Alabama Deed Book F/G, p. 685: This Indenture made and entered into this the 10th January One Thousand Eight hundred thirty seven between David Greenwood of the County of Shelby and State of Alabama of the first part and James Stidham of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, witnesseth that I David Greenwood for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold and delivered unto James Stidham a certain tract or parcel of land containing Eighty acres bounded as follows West half of North West quarter Section Twelve Township Twenty Range Two East in the District of Tuscaloosa and State of Alabama. To have and to hold the said land and premises hereby conveyed with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said James Stidham his heirs executors, administrators or assigns and before from me and my heirs, executors, administrators or assigns and be free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons claiming by through or under the same in Law or equity.
