AL, 1837-1862 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Shelby County, Alabama Deed Book J, p. 117: James Stidham Deed of Gift to Francis Stidham Lewis Sentall trustee} this indenture made and Entered into on this the 27th day of July 1848 between James Stidham of the County of Shelby & State of Alabama of the one part & Lewis Sentall trustee of for the benefit of certain persons herein after named of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Stidham for and in consideration of the natural love and affection he has for his wife Francis Stidham and for the further consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Lewis Sentall the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and doth by these presents Grant bargain and sell alien, Enferoff and convey to the said Lewis Sentall all the right title claim and interest which the said James Stedham has in and to the following described real & personal property that is to say the West half of the north West quarter of Section twelve in Township twenty Range two also the West half of the North West quarter of section seven in Township twenty of range three, and also the north east quarter of the North East quarter of Section twelve in Township twenty of Range Two, and Three acres of Land adjoining the Last named tract in the south end extending across the south end of said tract and running south for quantity. Also a negro man named George aged about thirty years and also all my house hold and Kitchin furniture & head of Horses and one yoke of Work Steers and nine head of neat cattle one set of blacksmith tools fifty head of stock hogs and all farming utensils, one ox cart and one carryall to have and to hold the above described property to the said Lewis Sentall his heirs and assigns forever but upon the trust and confidence nevertheless that the said Lewis Sentall will hold the legal title to said property in trust for the use and benefit of the said Francis Stedham and to him sole & separate use and behoof during his life, and at his death that he will yield up said property to satisfy such bequests as the said Francis Stidham shall make by her Will or by gift, and the said property it is Hereby stipulated shall remain in the possession & control of the said Francis Stidham free from any other control of any other person there may be necessary to protect the legal title thereto it is also stipulated that said property shall rest in said trustee s-- life at to the payment of all the just debts which the said James Stidham now owes & that the Rents and profits of said property shall be appropriated by the said Francis Stidham in any manner she may deem proper.
