F. C. Archer. The subject of this sketch, Rev F. C. Archer, (Uncle Fed) was born in Lexington county South Carolina January 11, 1817 and departed this life March 3, 1910, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rebeca Salser, aged ninety-three years, one month and twenty days. Early in life he was converted and joined the Congregational church, late he moved to Alabama and in 1869 he joined the Methodist Protestant church of which he was a member at the time of his death. Although brother Archer was a great sufferer for several years, he was faithful until death, Brother Archer has one son and two daughters who survive him: J.F. Archer of Columbiana Route 2, Mrs. Rebeca Salser of Columbiana Route 2, and Mrs. Amanda Bagget, of Autaugaville. Funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Hubbard cemetery after which his remains were laid to rest. C. W. Walton.
