Elizabeth Asperon vs. Ed Asperon
Bill for divorce 

Genealogical info from testimony:
Married 22 Mar 1893 in Pittsburg PA, separated 1 Oct 1907, prob. in Birmingham 
AL.
One child, Earle, male, who was 10 at the time of this case.  His health was 
not good, and the doctor had advised Elizabeth to take him to "Old Mexico" for 
his health.

Elizabeth testified that her husband went under assumed names at varous times.  
He was J. Lasch when she married him.  Afterward, "he went to the records and 
had it changed to what he claimed was his right name, Edd Asperon." That was in 
Washington PA.  She said "he had three or four different names since I was 
married to him."

Research shows no Asperon listed in PA or AL in 1900.  In fact, the only 
Asperon was Antonio Asperon in Florida, age 27, single, b.Spain.  There is a 
John Lasch in PA in 1900, white male 31, b.Poland - and the census says he is 
married.  But he is living in a boarding house, no wife shown.  According to 
testimony, Ed and Elizabeth didn't separate until 1807.

The only other Asperon, in any state, any year is the child mentioned in the 
divorce case:  In 1920 Earl D. Asperon , white male, 24, b.PA is living in 
Laredo TX in the hh of Seal (looks like) Newton, white male 32, b.TX and his 
wife Elizabeth E., 36 b.PA.  Earl is shown as Newton's stepson.  (Mother only 
36?  It wouldn't be the first time ladies lowered their age when married to a 
younger man.  But that would make her only 12 when Earl was born, so it's 
probably the wrong age for her.)
