Henry Johnson 5/9/1791- 7/16/1844 Elizabeth Johnson (Consort of Henry Johnson) 10/24/1790- 8/1/1842 I have been unable to trace the lineage of Henry Johnson. His grave, and Elizabeth's, are enclosed with a chain link fence. Mr. Tommy Rogers said a lady from Batesville, Ms. had it done several years ago. ALLGOOD- Graves were enclosed in an ornate wrought iron fence with a gate carrying the name J.B. ALLGOOD. The fencing had been torn down over the years by cattle or vandals. All the iron work that has been recovered was buried under six to eight of soil and located with a metal detector. Hopefully enough will be found to resurrect at least a portion to indicate the original plot. Darthula D. Allgood 1/30/1826- 1/31/1826? I think her death date was recorded in error. She appears on the 1850 Sumter County, Al. Census as the wife of Jefferson Barnett Allgood, age 24. She died before 1860. Her maiden name was Darthula JONES. She married Jefferson Barnett Allgood in Sumter County, Al. on May 24, 1842. Parents undetermined. Blake Baker Allgood 7/14/1842- 1/4/1843 (Son of J.B. and Darthula Allgood) James William Allgood 6/9/1845- 9/11/1846 (Son of J.B. and Darthula Allgood) Altazana Allgood 10/2/1846- 7/8/1848 (Daughter of J.B. and Darthula Allgood) Sterling Henry Allgood 4/7/1848- 7/28/1849 (Son of J.B. and Darthula Allgood) GENEALOGY OF JEFFERSON BARNETT ALLGOOD Jefferson Barnett Allgood was born 12/5/1818 in Laurens County, South Carolina. He was the son of DeForrest (5/21/1787- 6/9/1877) and Alice Lawson (Perry) (4/5/1797- 3/7/1883)Allgood. His siblings were Elvira, Alice Lawson, William H., and Margaret Perry Allgood. J.B. Algood is found on the 1840 Census of Sumter County, Al. with the following family indicated. One male age 20/30, one male age 15/20, two males age 5/10, and one male age under 5. One female age 50/60, one female age 20/30, two females age 15/20, one female age 10/15, and one female age 5/10. The 1850 Census of Sumter County, Al. Warsaw District, shows: Household #1088-Jefferson B. Allgood, age 32, Physician, Real Estate 2000, Born S.C. Dorthala (sic), age 25 Bellia, age 10/12 mos. ( J.B. Allgood owned 14 slaves) Interestingly the next household # 1089 indicates Elizabeth D. Little- 45- Real Estate 2000- born Tn. Ann Jones- 19-Al. Martha E. Jones- 15-Al. Mary H. Jones- 12- Al. Sterling H. Jones- 22- Physician- Al James W. Jones- 18- Student- Al. James W. Jones is buried in the Allgood plot and also note Sterling Henry Allgood. I predict the above Jones's are Darthula's siblings. I do not know how Elizabeth D. Little is connected. Darthula Allgood died before 1860. Note all of the Allgood children listed above died in the 1840's and Bellia was born about 1849. After the death of his wife, Jefferson B. Allgood apparently left Sumter County and is found on the 1860 Census of Bibb County, Georgia, Macon District. 1860 Census of Bibb County, Georgia, Macon District Jefferson B. Margaret-11- Al. 1882 is the last record I find for Cadmus Tartt in Sumter County, Al. He is listed as a school teacher in Sherman, Sumter County, Al. Local legend says he killed a man and left for Texas. This could be valid since I found his wife Agnes M. (Beavers) Tartt in Galveston , Texas listed as widow of C.E. Tartt, occupation-boardinghouse.
