Witnesseth the said Susan Mayo of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to her in hand paid by the second parties, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell unto the said W T Sisson and his wife M J Sisson, and their heirs and assigns forever, the following tract or parcel of land, viz: Fraction D of Section No 4, Township No 18, Range No 4 East, containing 35.6 acres laying on the Coosa River in the Coosa Land District together with all and singular the lands, tenements, hereditaments and appertenances thereunto belonging, or in any ways appertaining to titles, whereof she of the first part bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators and assigns to forever warrant and defend the titles of said land to the parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and afixed our seals, the day and date above written. WITNESSES: James Jones John T Ragan X Susan (X her mark) Mayo The State of Alabama, Talladega County.....I, George P Plenman, Judge of the Court of Probate held in and for said county hereby certify that John L Ragan, a subscribing witness to the forgoing conveyance known to me, appeared before me this day and being sworn stated that Susan Mayo the grantor in the conveyance, voluntarily executed the same in his presence, and in the presence of the other subscribing witness on the day the same bears date that he attested the same in the presence of the grantor and of the other subscribing witness and that such other witness subscribed his name as a witness in his presence. Additional Comments: William T SISSON was the son of Obediah SISSON and wife Margaret. In this 1873 deed, his wife was Margaret Jane LAMBERT who he married in 1858 after his first wife died.
