Inf. Regt. Vols., Private, Talladega, Alabama. Muster in roll signed by Capt. Curry, Mar 31, 1862. Wounded during the siege of Vicksburg, Ms., before Jul 2, 1863. Died of wounds Jul 2, 1863 in Vicksburg, Ms., buried in the City Cemetery along with 3500 other Confederate Soldiers, in one mass grave. Additional Comments: John Francis Marion Tyler was born about 1825 in Hall County, Georgia, son of Jacob Joseph and Cynthia Mullins Tyler. He gave all for the cause.
