In County 38 years. Co. A., 29th Alabama Infantry. Enlisted Sept 12, 1861 at Greensboro, N.C. Paroled May 1, 1865. Lived in Talledega County, Alabama. Wife Fannie, Mar 10, 1849-May 5, 1917. Canton Cemetery. Lived at Rt. #3, Canton, Texas. One witness to his confederated pensioner's application was Whatley M. Hall who was 65 yrs. old and lived at RHD #1, Lincoln, Alabama who stated that he had known Robert McClellan for 50 yrs and first knew him in Lincoln County of Talladega and state of Alabama. Another witness was WilliamR. Perry , age 67, address #RHd #1, Lincoln, Alabama who stated that he had known Robert McClellan for fifty years, first knew him in Lincoln, Talladega County Alabama. Another witness was J.M. Knox, age 58, P.O. Box RR#3, Canton, Texas who stated that he had known Robert McClellan all his life ever since he could remember and knew him in Talledega County, Alabama. Another witness was B. Perry, age 64, of Canton, Texas who says that he knew Robert McClellan since he was a small boy and that he first knew him in Canton, Texas. A.J. Kellam, M.D. gave the Affidavit of his health on his application.
