G. Rowland, of Ashland, which was caused by lightning Friday afternoon about four o'clock. Wade Rowland, the young boy killed had gone out in the country with Chas. Thomas and his son. Smith Thomas. They had reached, their destination, Mr. Thomas farm, and were taking some things out of the wagon, when lightning struck a telephone pole nearby, also the wagon, killing the young boy and the mute hitched to the wagon. Mr. Thomas was burned about the hips and his son was burned on the leg under the pocket containing his knife. Mr. Rowland, father of the lightning's victim, is a prominent lawyer and brother of P. M.
