That portion which passed North of Town, first displayed its fury near the orchard on Gov. Parson's farm, passed thence directly over the Walker place, destroying buildings and fences, with the exception of the family residence, which escaped Mr. David Ogletree's family who were occupying the houses received no personal injury. It passed thence across Mr. Turner Ogletree's place, destroying every building, removing even the foundations of the chimneys and carrying the bricks hundreds of yards. A large family was occupying the houses and it seems almost miraculous that any of them should have escaped. Several members of the family received injuries, but none of them dangerous. Mrs. Ogletree (the old lady,) was at first thought to be dangerously wounded, but we are glad to learn is rapidly recovering, The old gentleman and one of his daughter's rec'd. injuries, but they are not regarded as serious, Thence the storm passed across Wyley Ogletree's place, destroying buildings and fences, and doing serious mischief. It passed a little south of Mr. Charles Carter's place, and his buildings escaped. We have heard no report of the storm further East. Mr. Turner Ogletree is the greatest sufferer, so far as have been able to learn, as there was not shelter left on his place, for his family to occupy. This storm was accompanied by lurid flashes of lightning and a heavy falling of hail. It is the third or fourth destructive tornado that has visited Howell's cove, within our recollection. The portion of the storm that passed South of us, crossed Clay County, not far from Ashland, and destroyed buildings, fences and timber, in the line of its track, and we learn did great damage to the country. We have not been able to gather particulars.
