Our Mountain Home
Mr. Annie Lee Scott, 64, died of pneumonia Thursday afternoon at 5:40 o'clock at 
the local hospital after a week's illness. The funeral service was held Friday 
afternoon, at 3 o'clock, ' at the First Methodist Church, Rev. O. K. Lamb, 
pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Usrey directing. 
Pallbearer were: Active -A. Abrams, Joseph L. Ivey, Henry Cofield, Sam Burns, W. 
M. Boynton, A. C. Baker, J. H. Samuel and H. H. Thornton; honorary W. C. Malone, 
Jr., Dr. C. L. Salter, W. H. Clardy, Dr. E.B. Wren, Graham Wright, W. L. Dumas, 
T. D. Boynton, G. W. Ragsdale, D. Hardy Riddle, Judge S. C. Oliver, and Dr. M. 
R. Joiner. Mrs. Scott was born in Chandler Springs on September 8, 1872, and had 
lived in Talladega County all her life except for a short time spent in Texas. 
She lived in Talladega for the last 40 years. She was married on April 19. 1891, 
to the late Edward Shelley Scott. She was a member of the First Methodist 
Church. Surviving are her daughter, Miss Katie Scott, of Talladega, and one 
nephew, Clyde H. Scott, of Birmingham.
