Marriage Certificate
The State of Alabama )  To any Ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel,
Talladega County     )  Judge of the Circuit or Probate Courts, or Justice
                        of the Peace for said County---GREETING:

You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between Mr. T.L. 
Hudgins and Miss Lucy Pope and this shall be your sufficient authority for so 
doing.

Given under my hand and seal this 5th day of December A.D. 1882
Wm. H. Thornton, Judge of Probate

The above named parties were married by me at Mrs. Martha Pope's Residence on 
the 6th day of December A.D. 1882.

Additional Comments:
Tarleton Lewis Hudgins was born on November 22, 1814, in Pickens County, South 
Carolina.  He was the son of James Hudgins and Margaret Williams.  He died on 
June 29, 1888, in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.  He is buried in Oak 
Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.

Lucy Pope was born on October 22, 1852, in Talladega County, Alabama.  She was 
the daughter of William Pope and Martha Wilson Pope.  She died on March 4, 
1936, in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.  She is buried in Oak Hill 
Cemetery in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.
