FRANKLIN G married MARY ELIZABETH TAYLOR in Merriwether County GA June 2, 1836. MARY E TAYLOR was the daughter of Bartolomew TAYLOR and NANCY DESMUKES. FRANKLIN G FARROW was, I believe, the son of JOHN FARROW & ELIZABETH GREER.. Not sure who JOHN FARROWS parents were or where they came from I am inclined to believe they are related to the FARROWS of South Carolina. All the names are so similar. FRANKLIN G & MARY TAYLOR FARROW came from Merriwether county GA to Tallapoosa Co AL in the early 1840's and settled on the Tallapoosa River Manoy Creek and Madwin Creek northeast of Dadeville between the Tallapoosa River and Jackson Gap. In the 1840's & 1850's FRANKLIN GEORGE FARROW purchase several tracts of land through the Military Bounty Land Warrant office in Montgomery AL. JOHN RANSOM FARROW was the first child born to FRANKLIN GEORGE and MARY TAYLOR FARROW. He married NANCY ELIZABETH RAY daughter of RANSOM and CASSEY/CATHERINE WHITTEN RAY. JOHN and NANCY FARROW had a daughter MARY ELIZABETH FARROW born in 1861. JOHN joined the service or was drafted. We are unable to find out what unit JOHN was with or where he was when he died. My grandmother always said he died on an island and he was buried there. Because the water was turbulent they couldn't bring him to the mainland. I think he must have joined when his brother THOMAS T FARROW joined or when one of his brothers in law joined.. His wife NANCY was pregnate with their second child when he came home for a visit. He died of complications of the measles somewhere and never got to see his second daughter, my grandmother, SOPHIA ALICE JOHNNY FARROW who was born December 4, 1863. Nancy RAY FARROW later married Thomas A DAVIS and moved to Williamson County Tennessee SILAS FARROW , the second child of Franklin George and Mary E TAYLOR FARROW. married Amanda Missouri GRAY (1841-1922). the daughter of Delilah Talbot/Tankersley second husband Dr TOLIVER M GRAY. His home was located in Jackson Gap. He was considered one of the largest land owners in Tallapoosa County and rented out several of his farms. In addition to hs large land holdings he was a very prosperous merchant and owened several stores. At one time in the late 1800's he became intersted in politics and ran for probate judge of the county but was defeated. I LEWELLYN CALHOUN FARROW, their older son was married ZULA MAE PULLEN ( 1874- 1916) Lewelly and Zula had nine children: LEWELLYN married 2/w SARA E SMITH son JOSEPH C FARROW. 1 CHARLES MAYNARD FARROW (1893- 1943) 2 LEWELLYN CALHOUN FARROW jr, (1916-1916) 3 LESSIE DALE FARROW ( 1894-1969) was married to WALTER JAMES SAXON. LESSIE & WALTER had one daughter MARGARET DALE SAXON who married THOMAS BARTLEY TOWNS. 4 EUNICE FARROW married JOHN BARTOW FARMER Was John B FARMER the son of James Thomas FARMER and Carolyn Mable PARDUE? Eunice and John had two children. DR JOHN BARTOW FARAMER jr & Dr THOMAS CALHOUN FARMER 5 OTIS EARL FARROW 6 LILLIAN FARROW 7 LOIS FARROW 8 VIVIAN FAROW 9 AUDREY FARROW II OCIE M FARROW )1870-1927) second son of SILAS & AMANDA FARROW married EMMA S FARROW (1888-1975. OCIE & EMMA FARROW had four children 1 SILAS WILLIAM FARROW ( 1921-1988) 2 FETUS FAROW no dates buried in Montgomery Co AL 3 ODESSA FARROW (1912-1912) 4 OVELLA FARROW married 1 a RHODES 2 GOODSON THOMAS TAYLOR FARROW was the third child born to the family. More on him on another page. JAMES FRANKLIN FARROW born 1844-1866,was the fourth child born to the family. James F FARROW,married ELIZABETH GRAY in Oct 3, 1865 Tallapoosa Co AL. ELIZABETH was the daughter of DELILAH TANKERSLEY & second husband DR T M GRAY. ELIZABETH was the sister of AMANDA W wife of SILAS FAROW. JAMES F & ELIZABETH had a son JAMES F FARROW born about 1867, when his father JAMES FARROW died. ELIZABETH GRAY FARROW then married JOHN WESLEY TAYLOR Jan 6, 1870 (Her father T M Gray was bondsmen) nephew of MARY E TAYLOR FARROW, John W TAYLOR would be the first cousin of ELIZABETH's 1st husband.JAMES F FARROW. The marriage was mentioned in the settlement of FRANKLIN GEORGE FARROW's estate. According to 1870 census John W TAYLOR had been married to a Martha and had 1 Wiliam 2 LeRoy 3 James 4 Lucinda TAYLOR. James Franklin FARROW married Carrie LEWIS in Throckmorton TX about 1890. their children were: 1 Otis FARROW,who married and settled in AR, 2 Roy FARROW died young, 3Chester FARROW ,never married, 4 Frank FARROW 5 Stafford Austin FARROW born Thrckmorton TX 1819 married Gladys Cecil COBB fom Cisco TX 5- 1 Beverly FARROW married Dwyane F SCHNAUBERT of McCarthy TX and had Joyce Debbie & Patty 5- 2 James Stafford FARROW married Shirley D KEY of Lubbock TX Child" Dennis Wayne, Kebra Key, Dana Austin & Danny Ray FARROW 5- 3 Franklin Arthur FARROW married Virginia son Coby FARROW & Sally. 5- 4 Carrie Winona FARROW married Bob St Clair of Lubbock TX 3 children 7 Lillian FARROW 8 Myrtle FARROW JOSEPH TAPLEY FARROW the fifth child born to the family was born 1846 died 1866. NANCY JANE FARROW the six child was born 1848 and died 1863 WILLIAM WESLEY FARROW the seventh child born to the famly was born 1849. William married NANCY JOANER AUSTIN (1844-1926) : no children. Their home was in Dadeville. WILLIAM WESLEY FARROW owned and operated a general merchandise business and owned other land in Tallapoosa County. GEORGE WESLEY FARROW the eighth child b Apr 1851 married 8 Dec 1874 Martha E B PULLEN. (1839-1904. GEORGE & MARTHA FARROW lived in Jackson Gap. GEORGE was a successful businessman., he owned and operated a store in Jackson Gap. He also owned land and other properties. George & Martha had one son CLAUDE A FARROW ( 1878-1922). Claude wife as ROSA(1884-1926). CLAUDE owned and operated a store in Dadville. They were the parents of two children: 1 HELEN FARROW (1911-1926) 2 MARY FARROW who married and moved to Illinois. FRANKLIN FARROW the ninth child b 1843 - 1863 HENRY B FARROW tenth child b 1855 maried Martha ANN V FIELDS 3 Jan 1878. Have picture of Henry & wife and childlren on another page. Mollie dau b May 1895 TX living with Uncle John POWERS. MARY ELIZABETH FARROW b 1858 She married JOHN R RAY 13 Jan 1876. Was JOHN R RAY nephew of Nancy RAY my great grandmother. They moved to Texas with Abner RAY . BARTOLOMEW FARROW b 1862 - 1863 FRANKLIN GEORGE, wife MARY, sons FRANKLIN, BARTHOLMEW and daughter NANCY JANE died during an epidemic. Sons died in 1866 also.
