Tallassee Rd. Make immediate right on Delta Rd., to left on Gantt Mill Rd. Located in a grassy clearing. At far side of cemetery, against wooded area are two large headstones lying face down. Too heavy to turn over to read. Note: Joseph Lane and Martha "Mattie" Caroline (DORMAN) GAUNTT are paternal great-grandparents of Joseph Gauntt Pearson, Jr. First Row: J.K. GAUNTT-Jan 6, 1865-Dec. 27, 1953. (Believed to be Jacob Kelly Gauntt.) Second Row: 1. Sarah Howard GAUNTT-second wife-(no dates) 2. Jacob Israel GAUNTT-b. 1791-d. 1855 ssw Mary GAUNTT (no dates) 3. I.X. GAUNTT born Sept. 24, 1820-died Dec. 4, 1870 "Father let thy grace be given that we may meet in heaven." (Issachar X. Gauntt) 4. Martha A. GAUNTT-Jun 3, 1833-Oct. 28, 1914-(top of headstone, before name and dates, reads "Asleep in Jesus."
