I know the Greathouse farm (1000 arces) was the site of the cemetery. THE GREATHOUSE FAMILY CEMETERY IN TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, ALABAMA Contributors, Miss Otie Phillips, Lomax P Lockett and Mrs. Hugh Lockett, of Dadeville, Alabama. Location: On Lake Martin about 5 miles west of Dadeville, Tallapoosa County, Alabama is near Hugh Coker's Camp. There are several unmarked graves and 3 marked ones. This burial ground is in a densely wooded area and is in very bad condition. The Greathouse Family was very prominent at one time. Early Greathouse was a wealthy planter and a delagate to the Confederate Convention. The monument which marked his grave is no longer there. In memory of William E. Son of Susan and Early Greathouse, who died at Holly Springs, Miss. June 18, 1862 - aged 23 years, 9 months, and twelve days. He was in the Battle of Shiloh, Miss. April 6th and 7th 1862, and died in the service of the Confederate State of America. In memory of Seaborn J., son of Early and Susan Greathouse, who died in Tallapoosa County Aug. 21, 1863 - aged 27 years, 5 months, and 20 days - He was in the Battle of Shiloh, Miss. in service of the Confederate States of America on April 6th and 7th, 1862. He was taken prisoner at Port Hudson, La. July 9th and paroled July 11, 1863. He joined the Baptist church at Midway, Tallapoosa County, August 21, 1858. In memory of Cary J., son of Susan and Early Greathouse, who died May 9, 1963 (sic), aged 11 years, 5 months, and 25 days.
