H. GOODWIN Page 7 The State of Alabama } Tallapoosa County } Know all men by these presents that we William H. GOODWIN John M. HOPKINS and Isaiah PERRY are held and firmly bound unto A. P. _____ Govenor of this State for the time being and his successors in Office in the penal sum of one thousand Dollars good and Lawfull money of this State, for the payment of said sum of money, well and truly to be maid, we bind ourselves our Heirs and assigns, jointly Severally and firmly, by these presents, Signed with our hands and sealed this 29th day of January 1838. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above ____ Wm. H. GOODWIN, has been duly elected Constable for said County, in Beat five, and Commissioned. Now of the said GOODWIN, shall strictly faithfully and impartialy, and agreeable to Law, discharge all the duties of Constable without fear favor or affection, and continue at all times to discharge said Office of Constable agreeable to Law, then this obligation to remain in full force and virtue.
