Sturdivant, Judge-his seal Silas Ray-his mark In the presence of John A. Vaughan Additional Comments: GENEALOGIY NOTES George Counts married Caroline Ray on 15 Mar 1846 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. Caroline was his second wife. George had two sons by his first wife, Hasten Alexander and Larkin Chilton Counts. However, the Alabama State Census for Tallapoosa County shows the following: George Counts Beat 4 Males <21=3 (Larkin, Hasten, William) >21=1 (George) Females <21=2 (??Sarah Jane b. 1845, Nancy b. 1848 both appearing on 1860 census living with other folks) >21=2 (Caroline and another woman) While Nancy would surely be the child of Caroline, Sarah J. could be either Caroline’s or the last child of George’s first wife. Nancy Counts married John C. Vickers in 1868 in Tallapoosa Co. and Sarah Jane married Harrison R. Milner in 1866 in Tallapoosa County. It would therefore seem that George was the parent of Hasten Alexander, Larkin Chilton, William, Nancy and Sarah Jane.
