BOND OF JAMES M. RAY 1854

The State of Alabama
Tallapoosa County
Know all men by these presents that we James M. Ray, T. C. Thomas, Ransom Ray, 
Sr., Silas Ray, F. Farrow & J. T. Shackleford are held and firmly bound unto 
the State of Alabama in the penal sum of one thousand Dollars, for which 
payment will and truly be made and done, we bind ourselves, our and each of our 
heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, jointly, and severally, firmly, 
by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this 12th day of August A. 
D. 1854.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound 
James M. Ray has been duly elected Constable for Beat Number Four of said 
County.  Now if the said James M. Ray shall well and truly perform all the 
duties required of him as such Constable and shall pay over all money that 
shall come into his hands to the person or persons entitled to the same then 
the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force.
