Special Term February 3rd 1865. This day came James M. Berry executor of the estate of Silas Ray deceased, and filed his statement, account, vouchers and evidences for annual settlement with said estate; and the Court having examined said accounts etc, and found them apparently correct, they are now reported for such settlement. It is therefore ordered by this Court that the 1st day of March 1865, he set to make such settlement and that notice of the time of such settlement be given by publication for three successive weeks in the Banner and Times, a newspaper published in the County. It is further ordered that A. McGehee Esqr., be and is hereby appointed to act as Guardian ad litum for and to protect the interest of Jackson Ray and Silas Ray, the minor heirs of said deceased, in all matters pertaining to this settlement, and that such Guardian ad litum have notice of his appointment. His will is located on the USGenWeb Archives, Wills. His wife died in 1867 and her will is located on the same page. Her will leaves shares of the estate to the children of Ransom G. Ray, the son of Silas and herself. The two children listed in this document, Andrew Jackson Ray and Silas Young Ray, are the children of Ransom G. Ray and Mary Renfrow.
