Berry "for and in consideration of the natural love and affection" and also for $1 "do give and grant" to William T. Berry, James M. Berry, Louisa M. Berry, Sarah Ann Berry, Isham W. Berry and John T. Berry 5 negroes: Rose, Hannah, Edmond, Carolina, and Manerva. Additional Comments: Though this deed does not specifically say so, these are believed to be the six children of Thomas D. Berry's first wife Nicey Warren, who died about 1828. In 1838, all six children were under age 21. The slaves may have been part of the estate of their grandfather, Hackley Warren, d. c. 1810 Putnam Co GA. File size: 1.1 Kb
