D. 1839 and the Fi Fa bearing date January 11th A. D. 1844 and to me directed I John A. Haughter Sheriff of the said County of Tallapoosa did lately levy on and sign the lot tract or parcel of Land herein after specified and after being duly and publicly advertised according to Law did at Dadeville in said County of Tallapoosa on Monday this fourth day of March A. D. 1844 process at public outcry to sell the same when Silas Ray was the highest and best bidder therefore at the price of seven 25/100 dollars the same being knocked off to him the said Silas Ray for the sum aforesaid. In consideration of which I john A. Haughter Sheriff as aforesaid hereby bargain sell and convey into him the said Silas Ray and to his heirs and assigns the following described property to wit the undivided one half of lots number one and two in Block number three in the town of Dadeville Tallapoosa County To have and to hold said bargained property afterwards unto him the said Silas Ray and to his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said John A. Haughter Sheriff do so far as the office of Sheriff authorized me hereby warrant said property or real estate unto him the said Silas Ray and to his heirs and assigns and the same to have hold use and enjoy in the same manner the aforesaid George Howard the defendant as aforesaid could or might have held and enjoyed said property has not the same been seized and sold by virtue of the events aforesaid. In Testimony whereof I the said John A. Haughter Sheriff as aforesaid have hereunto set my hand and the seal the fourth day of March A. D. 1844 John A. Haughter Sheriff The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County I Simeon Goolsby Clerk of the County Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on the twelfth day of March A. D. 1844 John A. Haughter whose name is affixed to the (can’t read) written deed personally appeared before me and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the same on the day of the date thereof to the said Silas Ray.
