E. BOREN AND WIFE TO JAMES A. RAY 1851 The State of Alabama Russell County Know all men by these presents that we William E. Boren and Maria A. Boren wife of the said William E. Boren , for and in consideration of the sum seven hundred dollars to us in hand paid by James Ray of the County of Macon and State of Ala, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said James Ray his heirs and assigns the following tract or parcel of land to wit; it being a tract of North half Section No. [29] and in township twenty one [21] and Range [24] twenty four in the County of Tallapoosa and State of Ala out by a (can’t read) subject survey one hundred and thirty three acres lying (can’t read) then north east corner of said half section and bounded on the East by Benjamin Walker South and West by Mrs. Rutha Black and North by Dr. Ward. To have and to hold the above described one hundred and thirty three acres of land with all its appurtenances to the said James Ray his heirs and assigns to use and behoof forever and we do covenant with the same James Ray, his heirs and assigns that we are lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises that they are free of all incumbrances (sic), that we have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said James Ray, his heirs and assigns, and that we will warrant and defend this said premises to the said James Ray, his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In witness whereof the said Wm. E. Boren and Maria A. Boren wife of the said Wm. E. Boren have (can’t read) to set their hands and seals this the twentieth day of February eighteen hundred and fifty two Wm. E. Boren-his seal Maria A. Boren-her seal In presence of Geo. P. Waynon J. A. Waynon The State of Alabama Russell County Personally appeared before me Vinson C. Kirkland an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County George P. Waynon am of the (can’t read) on being witness, after being duly sworn sayeth the he saw the above named William E. Boren and Maria A. Boren sign seal and deliver the within and foregoing deed to James Ray and he saw the other witnesses assign also on the day and date otherwise written.
