WILLIAM L. JUSTICE, SOLOMON WASHBURN, JOHN MCQUEEN TO THOMAS RAY 1838

The State of Alabama
Tallapoosa County

This indenture made and executed unto the nineteenth day of May in the year of 
our Lord one thou [sic] and eight hundred and thirty eight between William L. 
Justice, Solomon Washburn, and John McQueen commissioners and by virtue of a 
final decree of the Judge of the County of Tallapoosa to convey the real estate 
of William Harper, deceased of the one part and Thomas Ray of the County 
aforesaid and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth-
That the William L. Justice, Solomon Washburn and John McQueen Commissioners as 
aforesaid and under the decree aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of 
one hundred and five dollars to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Ray at and 
before the signing and sealing of these presents have sold aliened conveyed and 
confirmed so far as the said final decree of the Judge of the County Court 
aforesaid has indicated with an authority unto the said Thomas Ray all that 
tract or parcel of Land situated lying and being in the County aforesaid and in 
the State aforesaid known & distinguished as the North West Quarter of the 
South West Quarter of Section of land in number (30) thirty in Township number 
(20) twenty and range number (24) twenty four in the Tallapoosa land  
district.  To have and to hold to him the said Thomas Ray his heirs executors 
and administrators together with all and singular the rights members and 
appurtenances there thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining forever in 
fee simple.  In testimony whereof the said William L. Justice, Solomon 
Washburn, and John McQueen as Commissioners as aforesaid have hereunto set 
their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
