RAY 1853 Te State of Alabama Tallapoosa County This indenture made this Twenty second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three between John Franklin of the County and State aforesaid of the first part, and Wm G. Ray of the County of Randolph and the State of Alabama of the second part witnesseth that the said John Franklin and Kiddy Franklin his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand and three hundred dollars to them in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell, enfeoff and convey to the said William G. Ray, his heirs and assigns the following described lands, ti wit, the South West Quarter of Section Seven and sixty acres being the West part of the South East Quarter of Section Seven, also the North West Quarter of Section Eighteen all of the above lands lying in Township Twenty four of Range twenty five, also the East half of the South East Quarter of Section twelve, also twenty acres of the North East Quarter of the North East Quarter whereon the gin house now stands, the same forming an Ell[?] on the North and East lines of said Quarter, And also the South East Quarter of the North East Quarter and the North West Quarter of the South East Quarter, and twenty five acres or that portion of the South West Quarter of the South East Quarter lying north of the south fence on said Quarter, all of the last mentioned lands lying in Tallapoosa County. It being the possession whereas the said John Franklin now resides and containing five hundred and eighty five acres, be the same more or less, To have and to hold unto the said William G. Ray, his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns in fee simple, together with all the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining, and first party, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators do warrant and will forever defend the right and title to the above described and hereby granted premises unto the said William G. Ray, his heirs and assigns, from and against the claim of law John Franklin, his heirs and assigns, and all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming or holding by from or under the government of the United States. In witness which the said John Franklin and Kiddy Franklin his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year before written John Franklin-his seal Kiddy Franklin-her seal In presence of E. L. Greer James L. Bandy, J. P. The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County This day personally appeared before me James L. Bandy an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County the before named John Franklin and his wife Kiddy Franklin who acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the foregoing deed to the said William G.
