RAY, EXR TO SUMMEREL DENNIS 1855 The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents that I James M. Ray, Executor on the estate of Solomon Lacks, Late of said County deceased, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and five dollars, the same being the amount bid at a public sale, pursuant to an order of the Hon. Probate Court of Tallapoosa County, and after having advertised the same according to Law, for the South East quarter of the South West quarter of Section Twenty four, 24, in Township Twenty two, 22, of Range Twenty two, 22, in the Tallapoosa Land district, by Summerel Dennis, Jun., do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Summerel Dennis, Jun the above described Land, the purchase money having been fully paid, the same being reported to the Probate Court, and and order made directing me to convey the title, or make deed to the same, in pursuance of such order I do hereby convey unto the said Summerel Dennis, Jun. All the right title and interest which the deceased, the said Solomon Lacks had to the said Land at the time of his death except dower interest of Jane Lacks, the widow of the said Solomon Lacks. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted premises, unto to him the said Summerel Dennis, Jun., his heirs and assigns, in fee simple forever. And I the said James M. Ray, executor as aforesaid do hereby warrant the title to the said Land unto the said Summerel Dennis, Jun., his heirs and assigns so far as the Legality of my acts as said Executor. Power The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County I, Simeon Goolsby, Judge of Probate in and for the State and County aforesaid hereby certify that John R. Pullen, a Subscribing witness to the foregoing conveyance, known to me, appeared before me this day and being sworn that James M. Ray the grantor in the conveyance, voluntarily executed the same in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness on the day the same bears date, that [can’t read] the same in the presence of the Grantor and the other witness, and that such other witness subscribed his name as a witness in his presence. Given under my hand the 26th day of July A. D. 1856.
