Beverly Tallapoosa Co., AL Deed Book L Pages 401 and 402 LDS Microfilm Number 1304525 Salt Lake City UT SILAS YARBROUGH TO RANSOM RAY 1859 The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of being indebted to Ransom Ray in the sum of two hundred nine 22/100 dollars in promissory notes due Dec. 25th 1859 and being desirous of securing of the said Ransom Ray for the payment of the same, I Silas Yarbrough has bargained sold and delivered unto the said Ransom Ray [can’t read] and by these presents do bargain sell and deliver to the said Ray the following property to wit, the S. E. ¼ S. E. ¼ of the 22 township 22 and of Range 22 and [can’t read the next six lines]. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this January 20th 1859. Silas Yarbrough-his mark Test: Jas. L. Porter The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County I, Luke Davenport an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the said County hereby certify that Silas Yarbrough whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance and who is known to me, acknowledged before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance he executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
