PEARSON & WIFE TO SILAS RAY 1855 The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents that we James M. Pearson and Elizabeth A. Pearson wife of the said James M. Pearson for and in consideration of four hundred and ninety six dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents a hereby bargain sell alien grant enfeoff and confirm unto Silas Ray the following described land to wit, the North half of Section Sixteen Township twenty two of Range twenty two East in Tallapoosa land district in the State and County aforesaid. To have and to hold the afore granted premises to him the said Silas Ray his heirs and assigns forever, That we have a right to sell and convey the same to the said Ray that they are free from all encumbrances and that the said James M. Pearson will warrant the right and title of said land to the said Ray his heirs and assigns forever against the legal claims of and demands of all persons. In witness whereof we the said James M. Pearson and Elizabeth Pearson have hereunto set our hands and seals this 30th day of April 1855 Jas. M. Pearson-his seal Elizabeth A. Pearson-her seal The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County I Matthew Lyle, Judge of Probate hereby certify that James M. Pearson and Elizabeth A. Pearson whose names are signed to the foregoing conveyance and who are known to me acknowledged before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance they executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
