ADAIR 1855 The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents, that we Ransom Ray & Cassey Ray wife of the said Ransom Ray for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty Six Dollars to us in hand paid by Robert P. Adair the receipt of which we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Robert P. Adair his heirs and assigns the following described Lands to wit, the South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section Seventeen Township Twenty two of Range Twenty two, East in the Tallapoosa Land District, lying and being in Tallapoosa, To have and to hold the afore granted premises to the said Robert P. Adair his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever. And we do hereby covenant with the said Robert P. Adair, his heirs and assigns, that we are lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises, that we have a good right to sell and convey the same unto the said Robert P. Adair his heirs and assigns, and that we will warrant and defend the said premises to the said Robert P. Adair his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof we the said Ransom Ray and Cassey Ray have hereunto set our hands and seal this 6th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty. Sturdivant and acting Justice of the Peace in and for the said County, hereby certify that Josiah M. Wesson a subscribing witness to the foregoing conveyance known to me appeared before me on this day, and being sworn stated that Ransom Ray and Cassie Ray the grantor in the conveyance voluntarily executed the same in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness, on the day the same bears date, that he attested the same in the presence of the Grantors and the other witness, and that such other witness subscribed his name as a witness in his presence.
