JOSEPH BRYAN JUNIOR TO SILAS RAY 1850

The State of Alabama
County
Know all men by these presents that I Goode Bryan Attorney in fact for Joseph 
Bryan Junior for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars to me 
in hand paid by Silas Ray of Tallapoosa County Alabama the receipt whereof I do 
hereby acknowledge do hereby give grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto 
the said Silas Ray the following parcels if Land to wit; The East half of the 
South East Quarter of Section Eight in Township Twenty two of Range Twenty two 
also Fractions A. & B. of the same Section Township and Range containing one 
hundred and twenty acres more or less.  To have and to hold the afore granted 
premises to the said Silas Ray his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof 
forever.  And I do covenant with the said Silas Ray his heirs and assigns that 
I am lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises that they are free of 
all encumbrances that I have a good right to sell and convey the said premises 
to the said Silas Ray his heirs and assigns and that I will warrant and defend 
the said premises to the said Silas Ray his heirs and assigns forever against 
the lawful claims and demands of all persons.  In witness whereof I the said 
Goode Bryan an attorney in fact for Joseph Bryan Junior have hereunto set my 
hand and seal this 14 day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and fifty.

Before me John A. Jordan Clerk of the County Clerk in and for said County 
personally appeared the above named Goode Bryan Attorney in fact for Joseph 
Bryan Jun. Who acknowledged that he [can’t read] sealed and delivered the 
foregoing Deed on the day and year therein mentioned to the aforesaid Silas Ray 
for the purposes therein contained.  Given under my hand and seal this 14 
February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
