Ray the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, enfeoff and confirm to the said Ransom G. Ray the following lands, to wit; the West quarter of the south half of section fifteen of Township twenty two and Range twenty two containing one hundred and sixty acres lying and being in the county of Tallapoosa and the State of Alabama. To have and to hold the afore granted premises to the said Ransom G. Ray his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever, and we do covenant with the Ransom G. Ray his heirs and assigns that we are lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises, that they are free of all incumbrances [sic] ; that we have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Ransom G. Ray his heirs and assigns that we will warrant and defend the said premises to the said R. G. Ray his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In witness whereof we the said James Boulware and Francis Boulware have unto set our hands and seals this 4th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty one.
