Winslett and wife Elvaren Winslett hereby acknowledge the receipt from James Ray of the sum of four hundred dollars and in consideration hereof convey set own and confirm unto the said James Ray one hundred and fifteen [blank] more or less lying between Samuel T. Rays land and the Hillabee Creek and to the east Bank of said creek two acres lying at the head of shoals on the east side of the creek in Section 20, Township 24, Range 21, to have and to hold the said premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said James Ray his heirs and assigns forever. We William Winslett and wife Elvaren Winslett forever warrant same against ourselves heirs and assigns and the lawful claims of all other persons. In witness whereof we have set our hands and seals this the 28th day of June 1861 William Winslett-his seal Elvaren Winslett-her seal Test. F. B. Lovejoy J. N. Bradley The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Before me W. L. Buys [?] an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said county. J. N. Bradley who is known to me who after being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he was present and saw the grantors to the within conveyance signed the same voluntarily and that he was called on to witness the same together with the other subscribing witness and that he subscribed his name as witness to the same, this July the 9th 1861 J.
