Ray & F. A. Davis-1/2 Interest of the crop tended by A. L. Ray & Larkin Counts for the present year-1 Gray horse about 8 years old-1 Black and White Spotted cow & calf and 1 Red & White Spotted cow and calf-One Black Sow, and 4 Pigs, N. W. ¼ of the S. W. ¼, S. 28 Township 22, Range 22, & S. E. ¼ of the S. W. ¼ Same Sec., Township & Range, all in Tallapoosa County Alabama, To have and to hold the fore granted property unto him, the said James Vaughan his heirs and assigns forever; upon the following conditions, nevertheless, should We pay off and discharge said notes at maturity, or cause the same to be done, then this obligation to be null and void; otherwise to remain in full force and effect, and the said James Vaughan is hereby authorized and fully empowered to seize and take possession of the fore granted property, and expose the same to sale at public outcry, to the highest bidder, for cash, after having first given five, 5, days notice of the time, place and terms of sale together with a description of the property. Posted at Dadeville and the proceeds of said sale applied to the satisfaction of said debt-and expenses of this mortgage and sale, the balance, if any, pay over to the maker of this instrument, or his legal representatives. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seal the 14th day of May 1870. A. L. Ray-his seal W. M. Ray whose names are signed to the foregoing conveyance, acknowledged before me this day, that being informed of the contents of the conveyance, they executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
