TO RAY 1869 The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents, that I James M. Berry, administrator of Ransom G. Ray deceased, and as such administrator by virtue of an order and decree of the Probate Court of said County, made and entered on the 13 day of November A. D. 1866 proceeded and sold on the premises on the 13 day of December 1866 during the legal hours of sale, after advertising as required by law to the highest bidder, the following described Lands; Viz; The South West ¼ of North East ¼ of Section 21 Twenty one, the east ½ and the South West ¼ of the North West ¼ of Section 15 Fifteen, the East ½ of North West ¼, the North West ¼ of North East ¼ and the North East ¼ of the North East ¼ of Section 22 twenty two, all in Township (22) Twenty two Range (22) twenty two in said County and State, where Daniel Ray became the highest and best bidder for the same and whereas I duly reported said sale to said Court on the 11th day of February 1867 and have on this day further reported the payment of the amount bid for said Land at said sale which was Two hundred and forty one Dollars, and whereas the said Daniel Ray, has complied with all the terms of said sale, and whereas said Court has this day made an order and decree authorizing and empowering me as such administrator and as commissioner for that purpose to convey all right title, and interest that was in said deceased to said Daniel Ray. Now I, James M. Berry, administrator of said Ransom G. Ray, deceased, by virtue of the power in me vested by said order and decree of said Probate Court, and for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty one dollars to me cash in hand paid by the said Daniel Ray, hereby remise, release, quitclaim and convey to said Daniel Ray all right title interest and claim that said deceased had in and to said Lands herein above described. Witness my hand & seal on the 4th day of February 1869. J. M. Berry, Admin, his seal The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County I the undersigned Judge of the Probate Court for said County hereby certify that James M. Berry whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance is known to me acknowledged before me this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance he executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
