PEDDY to Henry J. PICKARD The State of Alabama Tallapoosa county Know all men by these present that I A G PEDDY have this day mortgaged to Henry J. PICKARD the following tract or parcel of land namely the west half of the south west quarter of section twenty and in township twenty [four] of Range twenty three in Tallapoosa county Alabama containing seventy nine acres and sixty four hundredths of an acre as security to him for one hundred and seventy eight 81/100 dollars the above named note to be paid on the twenty fifth day of December AD 1855. If the said A G PEDDY promptly pay up all of the money for the above specified note by the twenty fifth day of December next this is to be null and void otherwise it will remain in full force and virtue and the said Henry J. PICKARD shall have the right to foreclose this mortgage and sell the above named land according to law. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of this the twenty fifth day of April AD 1855 A. G.
