MAPP to Henry J. PICKARD The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents that Elizabeth A MAPP of the county and state aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of sixty-eight dollars and fifty cents to me in hand [paid] by Henry J. PICKARD the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge xxx have this day granted bargained [sold] and conveyed and [by] these presents do grant bargain and sell and convey unto the [said] Henry J. PICKARD his heirs and assigns the following described tract or parcel of land to wit. the south west 1/4 of the north west 1/4 of section thirty six township twenty one (21) and range twenty one (21) lying and being in the county and state aforesaid containing forty acres more or less to have and to hold the aforegranted premises unto him the said Henry J. PICKARD his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and I the said Elizabeth A MAPP do hereby covenant with the Henry J. PICKARD his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized of the aforegranted premises that I have a good right to sell and convey the same unto the said Henry J. PICKARD that they are free from all encumbrances and I the said Elizabeth A. MAPP do hereby warrant and defend the title to the said premises to the said Henry J PICKARD his heirs and assigns the foregoing sale is upon the following condition and for the purpose hereinafter expressed that whereas the said Elizabeth A. MAPP is justly indebted to the said Henry J. PICKARD to the amount of Sixty Eight 50/100 dollars which will be due the first day of November next now if the said Elizabeth A. MAPP do pay or cause to be paid unto the said Henry J. PICKARD said note due the said Henry J. PICKARD and all cost that may occur when he the said PICKARD shall demand payment thereof from me the said Elizabeth A. MAPP then the sale to be void and of no effect but in the event the said Elizabeth A. MAPP shall fail to pay off and discharge the said sum of sixty eight 50/100 dollars the amount due on said note or any part thereof when the same shall be demanded of me Elizabeth A MAPP as aforesaid the said Henry J. PICKARD is empowered and authorized and I the said Elizabeth A MAPP do hereby authorize and empower the said Henry J.
