PICKARD and his wife Ellen PICKARD for and in consideration of three thousand dollars, to us in hand paid by John J. HOLLEY, the receipt where of we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grand, bargain, sell, enfeoff and confirm unto the said John J. HOLLEY the following described lands to wit. The east half of section twenty (20) township twenty and Range twenty one (21) lying and being in County of Tallapoosa and state of Alabama containing three hundred and twenty acres more or less. To have and to hold the afore granted premises to the said John J. HOLLEY heirs and assigns, to their use and behoof forever. And we do consent with the said, John J. HOLLEY - heirs assigns that we are lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises; that they are free of encumbrances; that we have a good right to sell and convey, the same to the said John J. HOLLEY his heirs and assigns, and that we will warrant and defend the said premises to the said John J. HOLLEY his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons In witness whereof, we the Henry J. PICKARD and his wife Ellen PICKARD have hereto set our hands and seals this 24th day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty four. PICKARD & Ellen PICKARD his wife whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance and who is known to me, acknowledged before me on this day, that being informed of the contents of the conveyance, they executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
