GRICE to Henry J. PICKARD The State of Alabama Tallapoosa County Know all men by these presents that whereas I, William W. GRICE am indebted to Henry J. PICKARD in the sum of about one hundred six 88/100 Dollars due by promissory note, and accounts, and being desirous of securing the payment of the said sum of money by the twenty fifth day of December next, do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said Henry J. PICKARD, his heirs and assigns my entire crop of corn, cotton and fodder that I may raise the present year. To have and to hold to the said PICKARD, his heirs and assigns forever, but should I pay off all of said indebtedness at its maturity. then this sale to be null and void. But should I fail or refuse to pay off said indebtedness then the said, H.J. PICKARD is here authorized to take possession of said crop and to sell the same, at public or private sale as he may choose and out of the proceeds of the sale thereof to pay off said indebtedness and expenses and the balance if any to pay over to me. GRICE whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance known to me, acknowledged before me, on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance he executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.
