Turner to Guthrie..... $300 Know all men by these presents that Elijah M. Turner for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to have in hand paid by Benj Guthrey in his life time the receipt whereof I do truly acknowledge do give grant bargain sell ???? and confirm unto the said heirs of Benj Guthrey deceased the following land to wit, the east half of the south west quarter of section (30) thirty in Township twenty three (23) of Range (23) twenty three lying and being in the county of Tallapoosa and state of Alabama subject to sale at Montgomery Alabama to have and hold the aforesaid premises the said heirs of Benjamin Guthrie deceased and assigned to their use and behalf forever and I do covenant with the said heirs of Benj Guthrie deceased that I am lawfully seized in fee of the aforesaid granted premises that they are free of all encumbrances that I have a right to sell and convey said lands to the heirs of Benj Guthrie and that I will warrant and defend the said premises to the said heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons in actions? whereof I the said Elijah M. Turner has hereto set my hand and seal this Twenty sixth day of Oct in the year of our lord One thousand Eight hundred & fifty two. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Elijah M. Turner State of Alabama, Tallapoosa County- Before me Luke Davenport a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally appeared the above ??? Elijah M. Turner and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the forgoing deed on that day and year therein mentioned to the aforesaid heirs of Benj Guthrie deceased..
