Office Stonewall Hospital

Montgomery Ala   April 4th 1865

Permission is herby granted Private G. W. Bross of Co. II, 3rd Ala. Regt. 
Battle Brigade by recommendation of the Asst. Surgeon to remain in Private 
quarters at De Soto Ala for (15) fifteen days. At the expiration of which time 
he will report at this office.

Found among letter from Bross family members to Claudia Wilson, daughter of J. 
and Mariah L. Bross Wilson who moved to Texas around 1876 from Tallapoosa Co., 
Ala
