Henry was married to W. A. Finch in Tallapoosa County, Alabama on 29 Sep 1861. 
He was born about 1839-40 in Harris County, Georgia . His younger brother,Allen 
G. Simmons was in the same company. Allen was captured and died as Prisoner of 
War at Ft. Delaware.
