Five personally appeared before me Justice of the Pearce within and or the County aforesaid, Henry G. Smith aged 35 years a resident of Tallapoosa County of the State of Alabama, who being duly sworn according to the law, declares that he is the identical person who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain Ellis of the Regiment of Georgia Militia commanded by Col. Story in the war with the Cherokee Indians in 1838 for the term of three months and continued actual service in the said war for fourteen days, that he has heretofore made application for Bounty Land under act of Sep 28, 1850 and received a land warrant 07527 for 40 acres which he has since legally disposed of and cannot return.
