Death Notices From THE SIFTINGS (Alexander City)

April 22, 1910:

(Macon, Ga., April 19) J.D. GARRISON, a young white man, is in the County 
Jail charged with the murder of J.W. TONEY, a Vineville merchant, at his home, 
401 Duncan Avenue, yesterday morning… Lester GARRISON, a young brother of J.D. 
GARRISON, said, “I was upstairs asleep when the shooting occurred. I came 
down stairs and found the room full of people; and Mr. TONEY was dead…”
