Miller, 80, of Caldwell died Friday evening (July 5, 2002) at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born July 4, 1922, in Jacksons Gap, Ala., to Ringo and Winnie Coker Miller. He was employed in the maintenance department of Rickenbacher Air Force Base in Columbus, retiring in 1975. He was a World War II Army veteran, having received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of Southeastern Conservation Club, a life member of Disabled American Veterans, and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Eileen A. Nichols Miller, whom he married July 6, 1981; two sons, Stanley (Beth St. John) Miller of Dublin and Howard Glynn (Barbara) Miller of Carlsbad, Calif.; one daughter, Linda (James) Hopkins of Cochranton, Pa.; two sisters, Doris (Clarence) Wilson of Keokuk, Iowa, and Emmer Mann of Valley, Ala.; two brothers, B.L. Miller and Wesley (Julie) Miller, all of Keokuk; one sister, Nadine (Fred) Tilley of Columbus; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mavis Miller, in 1978; his parents; two brothers, John and Bluford Miller; and one sister, Nora Burton. Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City, Ala. Burial is in Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City with full military honors.
