Mrs. Lavonia P. Baker, 87, of Alexander City, died Tuesday at Clay County 
Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were scheduled today at 2 p.m. at 
Mount Zion Baptist Church near Millerville with the Rev. Grady Harris and the 
Rev. Grady Birchfield officiating. Burial will be in Valley Grove Primitive 
Baptist Cemetery with Blair Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include three 
daughters, Mrs. Lillie B. Allen of Ashland, Mrs. Flora B. Allen and Mrs. Edna B. 
Thompson, both of Good water; three sons, Edwin Baker of Gadsden, Hubert W. Baker 
of Sylacauga, and Oscar 0. Baker of Alexander City; 20 grandchildren and 26 
great-grandchildren.
