Alexander City Outlook   February 1959
Mrs. Susie Celester Devore
Mrs. Susie Celester Devore, 85, passed away at her residence on Rt. 3, 
Alexander City on February 26.  Last rites were spoken Sunday at the Rocky 
Creek Church with the Revs. Grady Birchfield, Paul Jones, and Ed Mahan 
officiating.  Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery with Radney Funeral 
Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Devore is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. P. Sims, Alexander City and 
Mrs. G. W. Dye, Baileyton;  two sons, R. A. Devore, Cullman and D. A. Devore, 
Louisville Ky;  two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Pike, Camp Hill and Mrs. Pearl 
McCulaston, Marietta, Ga; a brother, John Hill, Danville and 14 grandchildren 
and 10 great grandchildren. 

Additional Comments:
Mrs. Susie Devore was the former Susie Celester Hill of Chambers County.  She 
was my great grandmother.
