Ashland Progress
Mrs. Adelia Guthrie died at her home in Millerville, Thursday, January 21, 1954, 
at the age of 74 years. The funeral service was held at Liberty Methodist 
Church, Pinkneyville, at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon. The Reverend Robert 
Sanderson conducted the service, assisted by the Reverend Mr. Glover. Serving as 
pallbearers were Ethridge Allen, Dean Helton, James Solley, John M. Fain, 
William F. Saxon Jr., and Charles S. Taylor. She is survived by seven children, 
Mrs. Lillian Brabham, Montgomery, Mrs. Anna Mae Clifton, Hollins, Cecil Guthrie, 
Ashland, Roy Guthrie, Heflin, Dewey Guthrie, Millerville, Howard Guthrie, 
Millerville, and Herbert Guthrie, Montgomery. Fifteen grandchildren and six 
great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters surviving are Walter Smith, Bud Smith, 
Nathaniel Smith and Robert Smith, Mrs. Mary McGee, Mrs. Allie Lovelady, Mrs. 
Ruby Page and Mrs. Cora Thrif.
