Helen Pate Ross 
Helen Pate Ross, age 83, of Edwardsville, died on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008. 
She is preceded in death by her parents James Wesley & Hilma Helen Hall Pate; 
her husband, James H. Ross; her brothers, James Wesley Pate Jr., Richard 
Ellington Pate and three infant brothers. 
She is survived by her son, J. Joe (Lori) Ross of Las Vegas; her two daughters, 
Taletta (Ralph) Watson of Edwardsville and Hilma (James) Hans of Pfafftown, 
N.C.; 
eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, 
one brother and one sister-in-law. 
Visitation will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, from 9-11:30 a.m. at Weber 
& Rodney Funeral Home. 
Service will begin immediately afterwards. Rev. Jerry Kizzire will officiate. 
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetary in Clinton, Ill. 
Memorials may be given to Leclaire Christian Church Building Fund.

Helen Pate Ross very generously shared much of her work with researchers of 
Tallapoosa County and many of us have been helped along in our research by her 
generosity and hard work.
