Ashland Progress
Lawrence A. Smith, life-long resident of near Millerville died last night 
(Wednesday) in an Alexander City hospital. He was 79 years old. Mr. Smith was 
well known in Clay County. He was born and lived in the same community all his 
life. He was married in 1893. Funeral services with be held tomorrow at Liberty 
Methodist Church near Pinkneyville at 10:00 o'clock. Rev. B. B. Finley will con-
duct services. Interment will be the adjoining cemetery, Grandsons and grandsons-
in-law will serve as pallbearers. Surviving are five children, Eiva, Albert Lee, 
Eunice and 0. C. Smith; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children.
