This is a photo of Mary Susan Freeman, daughter of Littleberry Freeman and his 
wife, Frances "Fannie" Malone Freeman. I believe it was taken around the time 
of her marriage on January 24, 1867, but really have no evidence of exactly 
when it was taken. She married Daniel Jackson (1834-1906) of Aiken County, SC. 
Daniel was probably the grandson of Sarah Gauntt, wife of Jacob Gauntt. Jacob 
and Sarah were from SC and moved to Tallapoosa County. Sarah was apparently 
previously married and her son, Clement Jackson (of SC) was Daniel's father. 
Daniel Jackson was in Tallapoosa County in 1860 as an overseer and after he 
married Mary Susan (they were back in SC by 1870, but their first child may 
have been born in Alabama).
