The final resting place of Matthew Harris, the only known Revolutionary War 
soldier buried in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, is in the John Robbins Slaughter 
Family Cemetery, located off Highway 280, between Dadeville and Camp Hill. The 
inscription on the large slab reads: "TO THE MEMORY OF MATTHEW HARRIS,"  and 
has been marked by the Tohopeka Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, 
Dadeville, Alabama. 

Additional Comments:
Matthew Harris died in 1845.
